MTH European Trains...

Go check out the MTH website. In lieu of having the new Lionel Tinplate Catalog uploaded.... This new catalog of MTH European Trains is spectacular. I was a huge fan of European trains when I was a kid and when you go to Europe and ride on the modern and "not so modern" gear it is even more impressive.

Check out these trains and don't discount them one iota. They're a brilliant idea and at least one should grace your pike!

Wunderland

Yet another amazing layout in Europe (Hamburg, Germany). This is off of the Yahoo Groups this weekend. Kudos to Steve Simon for finding this. I went to one of these outside of Amsterdam. Europeans generally take layout building to a whole new level. Check out the video:

Took this train a couple of weeks ago...

I took this train a couple of weeks ago from Amsterdam to Paris. Smooth ride and amazing scenery. I have seen these modeled in G Scale and I have something close in Standard Gauge!

Hah! And you thought uncoupling a couple of 200 series freights was a hassle! Check out these couplers!

I have to admit, Paris has a nice train station. At one point long before any of us were born Grand Central in NYC had a canopy much similar to this. This one reminded me very much of the Ives Glass Domed stations... There were some major slimy people in the station that attempted to rip me off and pick my pockets. Not gonna happen....
