Wishing for a Standard Gauge Subway....

Hanging out at Citi Field watching the Mets the other day and I caught some neat shots of subways in Queens. Gotta love these. I wish Lionel or one of the other manufacturers made these in Standard Gauge....

Madrid Transit

It's a pleasure to ride the beautiful and modern Madrid subway system. The extensive network make it possible to go by tube just about anywhere in this large European capitol. Sunday morning there is a toy train flea market at the Plaza Mayor which I hope to visit. Is there a Paya tinplate locomotive in my future?

Abandoned Subway Plow

This is a self propelled snow plow! Apparently it was found in a subway that was abandoned for about 40 years! I don't know much about it other than it caught my eye at the museum because of its' unusual shape. I guess there's a prototype for everything. I wonder what kind of sound it made? I have to guess it worked or it wouldn't have stuck around as long as it has!
