Hertz is still often quoted and recalled. Go to just about any train meet with people over 40 and stories are told, embellished and than retold with relish and mustard.I saw this pic of Hertz from June, 1937 Model Railroader Magazine and I just had to let everyone take a look. Collecting tinplate in 1937 must have been like shootin fish in a barrel. Lionel was closing out standard gauge (or getting pretty darn near) and WWII was almost in full swing.
