McCoy 1987 Cascade

This engine is really something to see, especially
humming around a large layout.

I actually had a really bad episode with one of these engines and ended up in court as a result. There isn't a day that goes by that I regret that episode in my life. I lost a potential friend and was ripped off by someone I know. I don't have a single one of these in my collection and I miss the engine.

Hindsight is 20-20.

I believe I know the incident. I'm an avid Milwaukee Road fan and collector of Milwaukee Road toy trains. Some time ago on eBay I lost out in the final seconds in bidding for what was claimed to be McCoy's original Milwaukee Road prototype of his E-2 Cascade engine. Did you win? If you did, then you are the individual I saw some months later on a court TV program sueing the eBay seller for claiming the Cascade engine was the original prototype when in fact it was a poorly done paint over of a common orange or yellow Cascade loco that hadn't even been stripped of paint. As I recall, the judge ended up calling Mrs. McCoy on the phone to verify whether or not her husband had produced the prototype of the Cascade that you won. She indicated he had not. At the time I recall thinking "what a small world this is" since if I had won it might have been me in that TV court room. I too still don't have a McCoy Cascade in my Milwaukee Road collection but some day I will. Ideally, a Cascade in a Milwaukee Road tri-color orange, maroon, and black paint scheme as it always should have been produced! Regards, Bob Nelson
