Lot where much of Ives burned....

You'd never know so much of the Ives company actually burned in this lot. As it looks now, it is actually kind of nice as parkling lots go. Well groomed grass, nice cars....

But this is where they cleaned out the Ives Factory on Holland Ave and they burned thousands of prewar catalogs, toys and trains. Plenty of Ives Standard Gauge was torched in this lot. I wonder if anyone that works in this place knows what kind of tragedy happened here. Hindsight is 20-20 but to just burn so much history really does astonish me.

Jim told me that it wasn't just toys that were incinerated, but also tooling as well. You could see no evidence of the factory that existed before, it was as if it had been wiped from the earth by time.
